Devious Journal Entry

Tue Oct 13, 2009, 7:35 PM
So I have yet to understand why people choose to make things like marching band soo important, like we HAVE to win. How ridiculous? I enjoy doing marching band because I think it's fun but when things get too serious, it's just silly. If we don't win, it's not like the world is going to end. So why attack us on our bad days? Obviously everyone has them. Even the coaches. So, if the coaches are allowed to have bad days, then why aren't the students? We technically should have more bad days than the adults because of the stress put upon us. And I know that we, as a pit, have much less practice time than the other members of the marching band, but that doesn't mean we're any less important to the marching band. That doesn't mean that we don't have feelings of our own. Just because we don't march, that doesn't give anyone the right to literally make fun of us. That doesn't give anyone the right to say that we don't matter. This is why Drumline season is so much better. And just because I don't have as many practices doesn't mean that I'm not equally as stressed as so many people are. AP classes just take up life, so why does it matter if we don't march? It's not like we don't spend the amount of time that marchers do. I mean, do they have practice on Saturdays? No. And we still spend all day at competitions.
*sigh*
