Ravenna Corvunis

Ravenna closed her phone quickly, stuffing it back into her pocket. She looked around, distressed, and then looked at Kyouya; he was standing with his hands in his pocket, looking calm and closing his eyes.
“Kyouya!” Ravenna exclaimed. “Don’t you know our friends are in mortal danger?”
“Yes,” he replied calmly, opening his eyes. “I do, in fact.”
“Well, then, why are you so calm?” Ravenna was distraught. “We’re so far away and they’re in trouble! We need to run and help!”
Kyouya rubbed his temples. “Yes, yes, I know. The fastest way is the way we came, right?”
Ravenna nodded. “But it’s still, like, an hour and a half away!” She started walking around in circles.
Kyouya grabbed her shoulders to make her stop. “Ravenna, calm down. They can handle things for an hour or so without us. Remember, we’re not the only ones who have power, and they’re no where near helpless. Plus, they have Shuichi, and he’s much more dangerous than first led to believe.”
Ravenna shook his hands off. “But he’s only dangerous if he goes into . . . that mode. And I’m sure he doesn’t want to do that!”
“But he will if need be,” Kyouya replied, putting his hands back down to his sides. “Plus, they have two soul hunters, two vampires, a grim reaper, and a . . . well, I’m not sure how great that flutist is, but he’s got some talent.”
Ravenna sighed. “Well, I guess you’re right. Let’s get going, though. And fast.”
Ravenna and Kyouya ran toward the nearest bus station, which was a few miles away. Both of them were in fit enough to run the entire time without getting tired. Once they got there, the two sat down at the bench, looking around and trying to catch their breath. It was a desolate area, nothing green lied around the area for ages. The place was covered in sand and dried up plants. The road the bus would be traveling on was only an old fashioned dust road, and the bench they sat at was old and splintery.
Five minutes went by without any sign of a bus and Ravenna became impatient.
“Shouldn’t it come now?” she asked, standing up and pacing. “I mean, it’s been forever. There should be a bus that comes now!”
Kyouya looked up from where he sat, taking his face away from his head. “Ravenna, it’s been five minutes. They’ll be fine, I’m sure. You just need to take a deep breath and realize that they’re not helpless.”
“Yes, yes, right.” Ravenna took a deep breath, calming herself. “They’re not helpless; they have eight people to defend against him. Bu-but, they don’t know how to plan anything! I was always the one to plan out everything! And now I’m not there and they’re helpless!” She broke down, dropping to her knees in the dust.
Kyouya looked at her. “Ravenna, calm down. How much sleep have you gotten these past few days?”
Ravenna looked up at him as a tear rolled down her cheek. “Not much, I guess. I’ve been really worried, Kyouya. You’d be worried too if your entire country was in a state of crisis.”
“My country’s always in a state of crisis,” Kyouya replied. He looked up toward the sky. “That’s what it gets, I suppose, for being the country of freedom. We try to do everything and make discrimination disappear, so, of course, it increases. And, according to the president, we should try to help the entire world in their problems. Don’t they understand, if they don’t do things on their own, they’ll never grow?” He sighed deeply.
Ravenna’s eyes dried up and she stood. “Yeah, French people never really liked the Americans. I was taught ‘Je n’aime pas l’americains.’ We’re pretty . . . different here.”
“Je – what?” Kyouya asked.
“Nevermind,” Ravenna replied. “Hey, look! It’s the bus!” She waved it down, and the two climbed in once it came to full stop.
They rode the bus in silence for an hour, waiting for their bus stop, and thinking about what they would do once they came to the park. Nepharious had to be there already, it had been quite a while since he had left. It had even been a pretty decent time after he left when Ravenna and Kyouya broke into his headquarters.
“What are you planning on doing, Ravenna, once we actually get there,” Kyouya asked. “Because, obviously, we can’t just barge into a fight.”
“Now, that’s what was puzzling me,” Ravenna said. “I’m not really sure, actually. Maybe a sneak attack? Or would it be too dark . . .? Hmm . . .”
They thought in silence for a while until Kyouya said, “Well, let’s do this: If it’s still light outside, then let’s do a sneak attack. If he made the light go away, or, as I see now, the sun’s going down, let’s just go through him. He can’t see us, right? He’ll just be focusing on the others, anyway.”
“All right,” Ravenna agreed. “That sounds like a good idea.”

Kykaro Saito

“Okay,” Kykaro said, “so now what?”
Yuki, Shuichi, Fujiko, and Kykaro all climbed out of the newly cut through metal bars of the store. Crème’s scythe, Cookie, had gotten them out without a sound, so the lady in green didn’t come out of that room, nor did they think she even noticed they were leaving.
Hiroki walked up to the four saying, “Ravenna just called me. She said Nepharious is headed this way, and he’s coming to get rid of us.”
“So, what are we planning on doing?” Yuki asked, walking over to Hiroki. “Obviously, we need some sort of plan or else he’ll just kill us straight off the bat.”
“That’s the problem,” Hiroki replied. “Ravenna’s always the one to come up with plans.”
“Well, obviously she isn’t here,” Crème said, walked over and grabbing Cookie. “I bet we can think of something on our own.”
They waited ten minutes before deciding they would just take things as it came. Ravenna really was much more helpful than they gave her credit for. Without Ravenna, they were completely unorganized and at a loss of what to do.
“So . . .” Kykaro murmured. “We’re just gonna stand here and wait?”
Tanuki started shuffling his feet. “What else is there to do?”
“Well, we’re not completely stupid,” Kykaro replied. “Can’t anyone think of anything?”
“Well, of course we can, Ky-chan,” Shuichi answered. “It’s just . . . well, none of us think our plans are adequate enough to go up against Nepharious.”
Kykaro looked at Shuichi. “And so, you think just standing here, waiting for Nepharious to show up is much better? I mean, we’ve got a head start and we’re still not doing anything.”
Tanuki stopped shuffling his feet, an idea coming to him. “Well, I have an idea.”  The group looked at Tanuki hopefully. “Well, I can use my flute to put him to sleep. That would buy us time to find out his weak spot. Then, maybe if Ravenna and Kyouya get here in time, we can all attack together. Like some sort of gigantic massive blow that would completely pulverize him. Then maybe destroying him will be easier.”
Everyone looked at him in awe; he was probably as smart as Ravenna, they just hadn’t gotten to know him well enough. He was a good person for Ravenna, though she would never believe that. Her intense wanting to be a loner pretty much stopped everyone from trying to hook her up with anyone.
“Wow, Tanuki,” Yuki said, astonished, “you’re smart.” The group started laughing at this comment.
“Thanks,” Tanuki replied, smiling. “I’ve always been good with projects and planning. I helped Nepharious out with that for a while, until he started to trust me less and less. I wasn’t the greatest to have on his team, and he knew that. I can be pretty deceiving.”
Hiroki looked at him sternly. “Just don’t deceive us, or you’ll be quite sorry.”
“Never even crossed my mind,” Tanuki said, shrugging. “You guys have been too nice to me. I figured you wouldn’t even let me tag along, but I’m sure glad you did.” He smiled again. “So, is that our new plan?”
“Why not?” Crème replied, nodding. “There’s nothing else we can think of.”
“Nothing better than that,” Izumi said.
“So,” Yuki uttered, “how exactly do we plan this out?”

Kyouya Cross

“So, we’re here,” Kyouya said, walking out of the bus swiftly. “Nothing’s happened. So, we rushed all the way here, afraid that some crazy black shadow was killing our friends, and nothing’s here.” He sighed deeply, crossing his eyes.
“That’s a good thing, isn’t it?” Ravenna replied, coming out of the bus after him. Once she was fully out, the bus closed its door and rode off. “I mean, now we can set a plan with the others before Nepharious gets here.”
Kyouya looked around, searching for the right way to go. “And you’re sure he’s coming here?”
“Positive,” Ravenna answered, following Kyouya’s eyes.
“All right, let’s go this way.” Kyouya pointed right, in the direction they had watched Yuki and the other three walk off in when they first got to the little area. “I have a feeling that they’re near there.”
“You have a feeling?” Ravenna inquired suspiciously. “Do your feelings normally help you?”
Kyouya looked at Ravenna skeptically. “No, I hardly have feelings. I meant metaphorically. I think they’re this way; does that help?”
Ravenna just shook her head and followed Kyouya into the circular area. They walked for a little while before seeing the group of kids all in a circle in front of a mint green building. The bars of the mint green building were melted in different areas.
“What happened here?” Kyouya asked, walked up to the circle. “How did you melt these bars? And why?”
Yuki looked up into Kyouya’s eyes and automatically dropped her head, feeling oddly embarrassed. “We used Cookie,” she mumbled. “She can cut through anything.”
“Ah,” Kyouya replied, sensing the tenseness. “All right, well, we’re back.”
“And we’re really glad you are because –”
But Izumi was cut off by a loud noise, resembling the sound thunder makes. It sounded like a loud clapping in the sky. Fujiko jump half a foot, accidentally bumping into Hiroki, who grabbed her hand.
The sky went pitch black, and the street lamps that were supposed to be on automatically turned off. A great black shadow came over the little circular area, and the wind picked up, making all of them freezing.
“And you thought you escaped me?” Nepharious’s voice boomed all across the area. “You can never escape me! And now, now I have a plan. A plan that will not fail!” He laughed maniacally. “I hope you enjoy the taste of death!” A light flashed across the area, making a cracking sound.
The ten teens looked right next to their circle as a hole became visible in the middle of the street. What has looked like just a crack of light had made that hole. They didn’t expect this from someone who looked so unorganized.
“What do we do?” Fujiko cried, her voice breaking with fear. “Are we still going out with the plan?”
“What choice do we have?” Kykaro shouted back, for the wind was really loud now. “Take you stances. Tanuki, go in the middle, and go looking unafraid. We’ll all stand around him.”
Ravenna and Kyouya looked around confused as the other teenagers took their stances all around the circular area, covering every section where Nepharious could escape.
“What do you want us to do?” Ravenna yelled, getting Tanuki’s attention before he walked into the middle of the circle.
“Kyouya, come with me,” Tanuki shouted. “You know how to do sleeping spells, right?”
Kyouya nodded, and Tanuki gestured for him to follow. “Ravenna, take a stance anywhere you think there’s an area he can get out of. And be prepared to use all your strength, he’s much tougher than I think you guys thought he was.” With that, he led Kyouya into the middle of the circle. Ravenna ran to take a stance where she thought there weren’t enough people.
During this time the giant black cloud had started to become something tornado-looking. It was shooting lightning bolt-type attacks all around, all of them sporadic and random. He wasn’t shooting at anything; he was just trying to scare them.
Kyouya and Tanuki walked into the middle of the circle and looked up at the middle of the giant black cloud. It was twisted in a way, starting to make a tornado.
“Are you ready for this?” Tanuki asked. Kyouya nodded, so Tanuki nodded in reply. “I believe he’s going to make a tornado. If he does do that, be prepared to stay inside the circle. It’s called the eye, if you didn’t know. That way, we’ll be safe, and so will the others.”
“How will the others be safe? They’ll get destroyed by the tornado, won’t they?”
“No,” Tanuki said. “He won’t go far enough for them to get sucked in.”
“But what if –”
“Just trust me, Kyouya, he won’t go far enough.”
But Kyouya was skeptical, so, before hitching a ride up the tornado as Tanuki had explained to him, he looked around one last time. He tried his hardest to see out of the swirling, dark black vortex, but only caught a glimpse of Yuki before Tanuki pulled him up into the air.
***
Kyouya and Tanuki climbed into what looked like a giant machine. It was all made out of metal, inside and out, and was as cold as the South Pole. Kyouya breathed out slowly, seeing the condensed air come out of his mouth. He looked at Tanuki questioningly but only got a shrug in reply.
They walked along a dimly lit corridor, the only light guiding them being gas fueled lanterns. As they walked, it seemed to get colder and colder, like they were making it to the back of an elongated freezer.
“A-are we a-almost th-there?” Kyouya chattered through half-way frozen lips.
Tanuki nodded his head and lifted a blued finger. He was pointing to the end of the hallway, at a semi-closed door. Light spilled through onto the ground, guiding their way.
As the two came to the door, Tanuki stopped right in front of it, putting his arm out so Kyouya stopped. He grunted, surprised.
“Sh,” Tanuki whispered, putting a finger to his lips. Out of his pocket he withdrew parts of a flute. As he put it together, Kyouya realized that this wasn’t any ordinary flute. It was made out of old fashioned wood, just like it was handcrafted. It looked around one hundred years old.
Kyouya started in awe, his violin wasn’t even that antique. Tanuki put the flute to his lips and started to play a beautiful tune. It wasn’t anything in particular, just notes playing together in the most amazing way.
And then Kyouya started to feel drowsy, trying his hardest to keep his eyes open. He regained awareness long enough to realize what was happened. He brought out his wand, muttering a spell so incomprehensible; he was amazed it had worked. Kyouya’s eyes opened wide as he saw a shadow swaying behind the door. With a loud BAM, Nepharious dropped, dead asleep.
Tanuki took a deep breath, breaking his flute apart and storing it back in his pocket.
“It should be okay now,” Tanuki said. “He shouldn’t wake for a while.”
Kyouya looked stunned. “I thought you said you normally put yourself to sleep?”
“Normally I’m not concentrating as hard,” he replied. “Now, c’mon, we need to get rid of this tornado so that the others can find his weak spot.”
The two boys walked into the room, seeing a control panel full of buttons. Kyouya looked down at the figure, lying asleep, almost like he was dead. It surprised Kyouya to see such a pale, frail man lying there. He looked as if he hadn’t had a decent meal for weeks, but looked like the stereotypical dork you see in high school, minus the glasses. His hair was jet black and spiked in a massive way that didn't even look humanly possible. Kyouya left him there, moving to where Tanuki was fiddling with buttons, but not without first wanting badly to just kill the ruthless son of a bitch.
“Kyouya, help me,” Tanuki pleaded. “I seriously have no idea what I’m doing.”
Kyouya walked over to Tanuki, pulling out his wand. He was completely oblivious to the sudden movement behind him.

Izumi Ronwell

The tornado had stopped; the entire area cooled down from the wind. Izumi removed his arm from his face, looking around at all seven other teenagers. They looked frazzled, hair in knots and around their faces; their eyes were wide with wonder.
“It stopped,” Hiroki pointed out.
“Now what?” Fujiko asked. She was standing atop the highest building in the area.
“We find its weakness,” Yuki replied, jumping off the street lamp she’d been standing on.
“But how?” Izumi asked skeptically.
“Start in the middle and work our way out.” Hiroki looked over the giant black cloud.
“How’re we supposed to do that?” Crème asked. “It’s a freaking giant black cloud!”
“We’ll find a way,” Cookie assures her.
“So,” Ravenna said, “start in the middle? Let’s get started before he does something drastic again.”
The eight teens jumped from their positions and ran to the middle of the circle.
“Okay, so,” Kykaro said, “it’s a bit hard to find a cloud’s weakness. What’re our strategies?”
Ravenna looked around the entire area, trying to find a way of entering the giant black cloud. What were they going to land on?
“You guys didn’t think this out all the way, did you?” Ravenna asked after a minutes of contemplating what to do.
“Well, no,” Shuichi replied unwillingly. “But we didn’t choose what to do, Tanuki did.”
Ravenna looked at him questioningly. “And you decide to trust him and his plan, why?”
“Well, why not?” Fujiko answered. “He is out friend now.”
Ravenna shook her head in exasperation. “You guys trust people too easily.”
“He did say he thought Nepharious very . . . well, not smart,” Fujiko said. “I think we can trust him.”
“We can’t go by what you think, Fujiko. We need more proof that he’s not still with Nepharious.” Ravenna shook her head again.
“But it’s not like we can ask him now,” Yuki said. “He went off with Kyouya to get rid of that tornado.”
“I know, I know,” Ravenna replied, rubbing her temples. “I just can’t seem to shake the feeling he’s not completely with us. I’m afraid he’s still with Nepharious, like, plotting against us.”
Hiroki walked up to Ravenna, placing a hand on her shoulder. “It’s just because you’re skeptical about everyone, Ravenna. We should expect it from you, you are a vampire hunter, and skepticism is only natural.” He gave her a quick smile and walked back to Fujiko, putting an arm around her waist.
Ravenna said nothing, instead looked back up at the cloud; there was a look of repulsion on her face, most likely directed toward Hiroki. She stood in that same position for a while until her face spread into a smile, remembering something she had done a while ago, while on a mission for her job.

Kyouya Cross

Kyouya had stopped the tornado through using his deciphering skills with his wand. He chose wisely on which buttons to press in which order. As soon as the tornado stopped, he was jumped from behind, a knife being held right up against his neck. The man who jumped him pulled him up against a wall, making him drop his wand and tied his arms with a rope, but not without a fight from Kyouya. Kyouya struggled against the man for a long while before he was completely tied around a wooden chair, struggling against how well the knot was made.
Nepharious, the scrawny, dork-looking man walked straight in plain view of Kyouya. He smiled nastily, proud of what he had done. Who in their lifetime could say they had successfully tied up a full trained wizard?
“You,” Kyouya said acidly. “I thought you were asleep.”
“Now, see, that’s where you went wrong,” Nepharious replied. Although he looked much to skinny for someone who could actually try to take over the world, his voice was the same, deep and scary one they had heard outside. “You actually believed Tanuki to be on your side. You trusted him much more easily than I expected you to, Kyouya. I was prepared for you to completely ignore him and not trust him. Have you lost your touch?” Nepharious smiled the acidic smile again; Kyouya looked uncomfortable in his seat.
“I have changed,” Kyouya said sternly. “You just misjudged me.”
“I don’t think so,” Nepharious replied. “I think it had to do with that vampire, Yuki.” Kyouya shuffled his feet uncomfortably. “I think I’m quite right.”
“No, you’re not,” Kyouya said, becoming more confident as each second ticked by. “You think you’re all high and mighty? Well, Nepharious, there are more than one on my side, and we’ll defeat you no matter what. We’re prepared to give it all we have because we know it’s worth it.”
Nepharious gave a full hearted laugh. “You think two vampires, two soul hunters, a grim reaper, a ninja, a vampire hunter, and a nobody will defeat me?”
Kyouya looked confused. “Yes . . .” he answered. “They outnumber you and have more natural powers than you do.”
“I don’t think so,” Nepharious replied. “I have Tanuki, who can just put them all to sleep. And, while they’re asleep, you can watch them all die. Painfully and horribly. I’m going to enjoy this.”
A noise came from the doorway, light spilled through into the room. Tanuki walked up to Kyouya and Kyouya noticed that he hadn’t been with them the entire time. He looked awful, like he was nervous, excited, and scared all at the same time. He walked past Kyouya without looking at him once.
“Tanuki,” Kyouya started.
“No, don’t talk to him,” Nepharious cut off. “He doesn’t need the likes of you talking to him.”
Kyouya gave him an ice cold stare before starting to ask, “Tanuki, how could you?”
Tanuki just gave Kyouya a look, quick as lightning, before staring back at the control panel. He tried to look busy, afraid of what Nepharious would say to him.
“Just don’t –”
But Nepharious was cut off by a massive noise emanating from the outside hallway. People were talking loudly, trying to stay calm and collected, but not working too well.
“It’s freaking cold in here!” shouted a voice that sounded the Crème. “Don’t evil villains need warmth, too?”
“Why would they?” the distinct voice of Cookie replied. “They’re already heartless fools.”
“Guys, quiet!” hissed Ravenna. “We don’t know where he is, and he could be very near us right now!”
Nepharious laughed when he heard the crude attempt at a rescue mission to save Kyouya. Although, they had no idea Nepharious was awake or that Kyouya was captured at all. Kyouya tried to call to them, tried to make a noise, but as soon as he attempted Nepharious put a large piece of duct tape over his mouth.
“You made me do this, Kyouya,” he said, smiling. “It was your own fault.”
Nepharious pulled out a large knife, almost as long as a sword, but not thin enough to be considered one. The knife was thick in width, making it a very intimidating knife. Nepharious smiled again, looking from the knife to Kyouya. Kyouya sat stock still, knowing exactly what that knife was for. His eyes grew wide and afraid for the first time ever in his life.
“Mmmm! Mhmmm!!!” Kyouya muttered, trying to sound out words with duct tape over his mouth.
“I’m guessing you know what this is for,” Nepharious said, hysteria coating his voice. “And the best part is that you can’t escape.” He laughed maniacally.
“Mmmm! Mmmmmm!!!” Kyouya started to cry. “Mmmm!!”
“There’s no escaping this, Kyouya,” Nepharious said, amused. “Be prepared for this.” He gave Kyouya a very excited look; his eyes were full of insanity.

Yuki Koyama

The eight teenagers had made it into the large metal machine through Ravenna’s brilliant plan of jumping buildings. No one had believed her at first, considering only a select few could jump buildings perfectly. The few who could (Shuichi, Kykaro, Yuki, and Ravenna) had helped the others get into the machine.
Crème had made a giant amount of noise once she entered the machine, complaining about how cold it was and everything else she could think of. Ravenna tried to quiet her, with no luck. Yuki finally shut her up by yelling right in her face; it had caught her off guard so much she just decided to stop talking.
The eight were now split up into four groups of two, looking around the entire machine for something that could bring it down. Yuki was with Ravenna, searching everywhere along the straightaway corridor from the entrance. As they kept walking, they finally found a door ajar, with light coming out from it. Voices were coming from it, so the two walked up to the door slowly and quietly, trying to listen to the conversation whoever was inside was having.
“No, no!” pleaded a voice that sounded a lot like Tanuki. “This isn’t what we planned! I agreed to help you if you didn’t hurt them! Please!” He started to sob.
“I don’t care what you said or what deal we made.” Nepharious’s voice, no doubt. “I can kill you just as easily as I can kill him!”
“Mmmmm!!!” was all they heard from the other person in the room.
Yuki guessed it was Kyouya; obviously he had been the one who went with Tanuki into this god forsaken machine of doom. She wondered why he wasn’t speaking in normal words, though, and why he sounded so panicked.
“Yuki, c’mere,” Ravenna said, sounding a bit scared. “You might want to see this.”
Yuki looked through the crack in the door. Her eyes became quite large once she saw that Kyouya was tied against a chair with duct tape over his mouth, and Tanuki was standing between Nepharious, with a knife, and Kyouya. It scared her more than half to death; Nepharious was going to kill Kyouya!
“We have to help him,” Yuki whispered violently. “We can’t just stand by and watch!”
“But –”
But Yuki was already halfway into the room, screaming at the top of her lungs, “NO!”
It all happened so quickly, Yuki hardly knew what was happening. Nepharious rushed at Tanuki, who was in the way of him and Kyouya, pushed him off to the side, a couple of bones cracking hard against the hard metal on the control panel; he rushed toward Kyouya before Yuki could make it there, and stabbed him right into his heart. Kyouya’s eyes grew huge before becoming a dead, glassy and clouded look; he lay limp in the chair, his arms no longer struggling to get out, and his mouth no longer trying to make words. Ravenna rushed in right after Yuki, seeing only Nepharious rush out of the window in the room. She ran over to the window to see Nepharious, falling to his death.
It took Yuki a moment to comprehend what had happened, but when she did tears streamed out of her eyes.
“No, no, no,” she pleaded. “No, please, no. I didn’t even get to . . . I didn’t . . . It can’t be . . . No, it can’t . . . NO!” She rushed over to the limp Kyouya, trying to wake him up, ripping the duct tape off his mouth and untying the ropes that tied him to the chair. “Please, Kyouya, please wake up. You can’t be, you just can’t!” The tears streamed even harder when she realized that he wasn’t going to wake up.
The rest of the group rushed into the room. They had heard loud noises coming from this room and shouts that sounded like Yuki. Because of this, they rushed over to the room to see what was going on.
Ravenna explained what had happened the best she could before walking over to Tanuki to see how badly hurt he was. Tanuki was waking up from his unconsciousness, but in great pain. He had broken a few of his ribs, both his arms, and one of the bones in his leg. Ravenna treated them as well as she could, but without Kyouya’s magic it made things much harder.
“That guy must’ve been whacked out,” Crème said after a while of silence. “He committed suicide after committing a homicide. How useless is that? We didn’t even get to fight him.”
“Be glad,” Izumi replied, putting his hands on her shoulders. “He probably would’ve been an impossible enemy to defeat.”
“Probably not,” Crème answered. “I mean, we had a lot of people, we could’ve taken him.”
Fujiko walked over to Yuki, putting a hand on her shoulder. Fujiko started to cry too, kneeling down when she saw the state the Kyouya had passed away in.
“Fujiko, it’s just not fair,” Yuki cried. “It’s just not! I didn’t even get to tell him I was sorry, I was going to! I didn’t mean it at all, and now he’s . . . oh, Fujiko.” Yuki started to bawl again, putting her head against Fujiko’s shoulder. Fujiko patted Yuki on the back, crying along with her.
“What should we do now?” Hiroki asked Ravenna. “We have someone who can’t walk and someone who’s not alive anymore. How’re we supposed to explain this?”
“Let’s just not,” Tanuki replied through gritted teeth. “I did something stupid, and now I regret it. Look at, ouch, look at Yuki. I did that to her, and I feel so incredibly guilty.” He sighed and took a sharp intake of breath, the pain in his ribs immense.
“Well, we should first start by leaving this metal death trap,” Ravenna said. “Do you happen to know how to descend it?”
Tanuki nodded slowly. “Just push the big red button on the right. That should take us down.”
Ravenna stood up, pushing the big red button. Sure enough, the machine started descending to the ground.
Once they reach the ground, Hiroki and Ravenna carried Tanuki out of it, setting him on a bench in the park. Yuki carried Kyouya out of the machine, setting him on the ground next to Tanuki; she closed his unseeing eyes. Izumi and Crème walked over to the flattened Nepharious; they both agreed he was mentally ill. The two picked him off the ground and moved him near the other two. What they were supposed to do now was the main question now.
“Let’s call a doctor,” Shuichi requested. His eyes were glistening with tears. “We need to get Tanuki better before he gets worse.”
So Ravenna went off to talk on her cell to a doctor nearby; Fujiko made an appointment with a mortuary man for Kyouya; and Izumi called the police for an arrangement of a meeting concerning Nepharious. He didn’t tell them all the details, but just enough to get them interested and still believe him.
Yuki was just lying over Kyouya’s stomach, crying and wouldn’t stop for anything. Nor would she move from atop him so they could move him. She just lay there, crying until she couldn’t cry anymore. She fell asleep atop him.
“Let’s not move her until we have to,” Shuichi suggested. “She needs her last moments with him, I can totally understand that.”
“I can’t even believe that this happened,” Fujiko said, sadness filling into her voice. “It just happened to be with Yuki, too. She had no time to apologize to him at all.” Fujiko sighed deeply.
“Let’s not fret over this much more,” Hiroki said. “We need sleep too, you know. Let’s just all sleep here for the night, it can’t be that bad.”
So all eight of them lay around the park, sleeping until almost noon the next day.

The End

During the next day, many things happened. Tanuki was taken to a French hospital, and then transferred to a Japanese hospital so he could be closer to where he lived. Everyone had to say goodbye to him first, as he had to leave for the hospital that day. After that, they went to the police, taking Nepharious’s body with them. They told the police all that they knew about what Nepharious had planned and was planning. They couldn’t tell them why he decided to jump from the machine, though. After about three hours in the police station, they identified the man as a certain Sanosuke Mikami, a depressed high school student who went to Ravenna’s school. She looked utterly embarrassed at this fact, considering she probably was the one who could’ve prevented it if she had just given him more attention. The police took the body and the eight teenagers left the police station, heading for the mortuary.
Once at the mortuary, they brought Kyouya’s body straight to the headman of the place. He gave them a discount on a cremation and an entire funded funeral because of the way he had died. Izumi paid for the certain things that needed money and they left Kyouya with the mortuary man.
They walked outside, trying to find something to do. The funeral was the next day, because they had to make it as soon as possible because most of the teens were leaving within the next two days.
The teenagers rented two hotel rooms, just like it had been back a year and a half ago. They remembered back on those days, the days without a care in the world. It seemed much farther than just a year now. They seemed so much older and mature; it was strange to think back then.
Yuki had said nothing during the entire day. She was completely silent, thinking about everything that had happened. She played the scene over and over in her mind, thinking that if she had just been quicker, Kyouya would probably still be alive now. It killed her to know that this was probably true.
All of the eight teenagers slept a very uneasy sleep that night.
***
On the boat in the Atlantic Ocean, going nowhere in particular, the group of eight teenagers seemed much more relaxed and joyful. They had the ashes of Kyouya in a bottle inside a certain room of Kyouya’s. The boat only consisted of the eight teenagers and the two boatmen. He had no real family to think of, nor did anyone in the school seem close enough for them to care. They had contemplated inviting Mr. Robbins, but decided against it when they realized he would be the only adult there.
Yuki walked around solemnly, conversing with no one, and just staring at the ground.
“You know, Yuki,” Hiroki said, coming up from behind her, “if you converse with no one then you’ll never feel any better. You’ve gotta get those feelings out.”
Yuki looked at him strangely, deciding whether or not to actually answer him. “Yeah, I know,” she said after a moment. “It’s just really hard for me right now.”
“And we all understand that,” Izumi replied, coming up from the inside rooms.
“Yeah, Yuki,” Crème said, following Izumi out of the inside rooms. “We do understand.”
“And we know we don’t really understand what it feels like,” Shuichi chimed in, coming down from the top deck.
“Well, I do,” Kykaro replied, following Shuichi. “Remember last year? I know exactly how you feel . . . It’s completely awful.”
“Well, we know it’s awful,” Ravenna said, coming from behind Yuki. “But we’ll always be here to help you out, you know?”
“Yeah, we’re always here to help,” Fujiko said happily, coming from the same area Ravenna had come from.
“We want to help you get through this, Yuki,” Hiroki said, smiling lightly. “Are you willing to let us?”
The seven other teenagers looked at Yuki questioningly; a happy expression filled all of their looks.
Yuki smiled, knowing now how great friends could be, and how amazing her friends were; no one could ever beat them.
“Of course,” she replied happily. “I’m so glad to have you guys.” She started tearing in the corner of her eyes.
“Aww, Yuki,” Fujiko said, hugging her. The rest of the cast joined in, all giving Yuki a hug.
The sun was starting to set, and the group decided together that they would all watch the sky turn from shades of oranges to pinks to purples together in the front of the boat.
Yuki grabbed the bottle from the inside room and brought it outside with her. As the sunset became a beautiful shade of pink and orange together, she spilled the ashes over the Atlantic Ocean, to roam free, as he should be.
OMGITCANTBE
O-O

But, yet, it is.
How weird :/
It's the ending of Odd Reunions.
And not only that, but the ending of this, what seemed like, neverending story. I won't be writing anything more, except maybe just a few character sketches.
No more stories with Odd Relations characters anymore :[
Yuki's sad T_T

Well, I hope this one ended better than the last one. It's random, but I think it worked our okay(:

Mm'kay
It's late
G'night All ^-^

That was it? *sigh* Well there is another story for the ages....this chapter did feel rather forced but then again we did have you tied up in a chair and threatened your sanity (er...figuratively speaking of course) if you didn't write a sequel so I guess it's mostly our fault. This new story of yours, however, is what I'm very anxious to read....
